J.K.’s Cuvée Winterruption Farmhouse Hard Cider, $7.99/Christmas Sale $6.99: This organic cider has maple and apple on the nose with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. The maple comes through nicely on the mid-palate and the finish is clean and dry. Would be good on ice or steeped.

Prairie The Beer That Saved ChristmasPrairie The Beer That Saved Christmas, $12.49/Christmas Sale $11.49: This 10% ABV ale, aged in oak barrels, has an earthy nose, accompanied by roasted malts, some sweet malts, barrel and cocoa. It has a rich, full bodied malty palate with nice oak and finishes long.

He’Brew Jewbelation Reborn, $12.99/Christmas Sale $11.99: 17 malts and 17 hops created this 17% ABV “Chosen Beer.” Hops and alcohol heat on the nose, with some herbal spiciness and malt roast. The palate is full-bodied, rich and chewy, with sweet and roasty malts. A huge, long and dry finish characterizes this monster of a beer!

Paradox Figgy Puddin’, $11.49/Christmas Sale $10.49:  This seasonal shows a slightly tart red wine barrel nose, accompanied by a lightly fruity and tart body (due to the figs, dates and cherries with which it is brewed) and a refreshingly clean and balanced finish. $1 Off all other Paradox Beers!

Gulden Draak Whiskey Barrel Aged, $23.99/Christmas Sale $21.49: This classic Belgian strong ale with a supremely smooth finish brought on by the whiskey barrel aging is only available to the lucky few, as quantities are extremely limited.

  1. Dear Coal Train Wines,

I tried a Widmer beer in Minneapolis last week and I’m pining for it – do you carry Widmer beers and if so, do you have Downward Spiral please? It’s delicious!

    Many thanks,
